Why we are doing this

Lolab started in 2015 with an idea for flexible cardboard (refugee) housing.

Building regulations and safety made fireproofing a necessity, hence we went on a mission to create an eco friendly solution.

What we asked ourselves

In order to solve this problem, we asked ourselves some basic questions:

• Are the materials we use renewable or finite?

• Are they harmless to the environment?

• And to our health?

• Are they doing good, or just ‘less bad’?

Is it ecological?

Fire retardant solutions are often harmful for our environment.

Most ‘ecological’ fire retardant board materials use harmful, toxic chemicals or aluminum layers.

They rely on non-realistic recycling claims and are often made from non-renewable resources.

We at LoLab believe that a truly ecological product is renewable and biodegradable.
